Chick-Fil-A Review

Chick-fil-a Spicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich Review

Recently, a poll was sent out to all students of Rockhurst, asking if they wanted any restaurants to be reviewed, and what specific items. Below are the results of one of the numerous submissions.

Unsurprisingly, Chick-fil-A was a top choice. The item selected was the “Chicken Sandwich.” Since there was no clarification of what chicken sandwich to purchase, I had to go with the newly introduced spicy grilled chicken sandwich. I am a huge fan of grilled chicken, but the normal grilled chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A is just missing great aspects of flavor that the crispy chicken sandwich contains. As I drove up to the window, I was told by the Chick-fil-A employee that the spicy grilled chicken sandwich contains lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Being a picky eater, I ordered no pickles and tomatoes, and added one slice of colby-jack cheese. For the entire combo meal, which includes the sandwich, medium fries, and a medium drink, cost about $9.50.

As I was handed the box, the first thing I noticed was the presentation. Instead of the bag that the crispy sandwiches are served in, I received the sandwich in a foldable box, which helped keep all of the add-ons on the sandwich. As I opened the box, I noticed that the sandwich was wrapped in a wrapper, which made the sandwich much easier to pick up. The bun was not their usual bun, but rather their toasted multigrain bun. I was expecting the chicken to just be thrown in their buffalo sauce or such, but what I saw was much better. The chicken seemed to have all of the spices cooked onto it, which is a feature I also enjoy, especially on wings. Then, I took my first bite. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of spice, which the crispy sandwich always seems to lack. The sandwich was actually spicy, which surprised me. Mixed with the crunch of the lettuce and the melted cheese, the sandwich made a great combination. Overall, I would have to say that this new spicy grilled chicken sandwich is my favorite item at Chick-fil-A.

Also, the taste isn’t the only benefit included with the sandwich. The grilled spicy chicken sandwich has 410 calories, 13 grams of fat, 42 grams of carbs, and 33 grams of protein, versus the 460 calories, 19 grams of fat, 45 grams of carbs, and 28 grams included in the spicy crispy chicken sandwich. So not only is it much tastier, it is much healthier, making it the best chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A right now.
