Haunted houses are one of the most popular places to go during the Halloween season. Due to COVID-19, they might be look very different from last year. Some of your favorite haunted houses such as The Beast and The Edge Of Hell are planning to open soon with the addition of many COVID-19 precautions.
With nearly 35,000 total COVID cases reported since March, Kansas City is going to look wildly different in terms of Halloween. The CDC says “ Indoor gatherings generally pose more risk than outdoor gatherings. Indoor gatherings with poor ventilation pose more risk than those with good ventilation, such as those with open windows or doors.” With most of the haunted houses being inside we will see how many cases Kansas City racks up this Halloween season. The CDC also says, “ Gatherings that last longer pose more risk than shorter gatherings.” With people moving quickly through haunted houses, it is fair to say there will not be as many cases as predicted.
Junior Joe Molen says, “ It’s really sad to hear Worlds of Fun won’t be opening this year.” Molen also says, “ I always have fun going to the West Bottoms for haunted houses, so I’m glad those are open this season.” This Halloween season is definitely one full of ups and downs. We will definitely have to keep rolling with these punches while COVID-19 is still around.
