Super Bowl Contenders

The Super Bowl is still months away, people are already wondering who’s going to make it. The top three contenders are the New England Patriots, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams. The first contender coming in the updated week 2 power rankings as number 1 is the New England Patriots. The Patriots are led by ingenious coach Bill Belinchek and they are captained by the legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Their wide receiver core might be the best in the NFL with great wide receivers such as Antonio Brown, Julian Edelman, and Josh Gordon. The Patriots also have a great secondary that is amazing at shutting down another team’s number one option.

Coming in at number two in the power rankings are the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have Andy Reid as their head coach and at quarterback they have a guy coming off an MVP season in only his second year in the NFL, his name is Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs also have a deep receiving core with Week 1 leader in receiving yards, Sammy Watkins, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce. The weakness the Chiefs have is their defense. Despite making additions to their defense, they are still not an elite defensive team.

Rounding out the top three, are the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams have a young coach, Sean McVay and are led by Jared Goff. They also have great wide receivers with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and Brandin Cooks. They also have one of the best defensive players in the league, Aaron Donald, he also led the NFL in sacks last year.

There are a lot of great teams in the NFL and these are just 3 of the new teams. With more than 15 teams having All-Pro players it will make for competitive playoffs and an even better Super Bowl.
