What Kelly, Pope, and Rockhurst as a Whole is Thankful For

Thanksgiving is a time to show gratitude, spend time with friends and family, and eat good food. I would like to take out our allotted space in the Prep News to find out what everyone from around Rockhurst is grateful for. Personally I’m thankful for the opportunity to attend Rockhurst, my wonderful friends and family, and Flik’s revved up meat sauce. I have a wonderful Jesuit education I wouldn’t trade for the world, and one of the many perks of that is the privilege of indulging in all sorts of  sauces. At this point I’ve been so spoiled with the sauce that I don’t think I could ever go back.

I could ramble on and on about everything I’m thankful for, like my family, friends, education and what not. But no one wants to hear that. So here are some of the more “obscure” things I am thankful for in my life. Firstly, I’m ever so grateful for Spotify. I know it’s been around for a long while now, and everyone seems to take it and other streaming services like it for granted, but I can’t stress enough how grateful I am to be able to jam out to good music that the radio never plays. Another thing I am grateful for is Lifetime Sports. If I’m going to be honest, starting my day off at Ward Parkway Lanes is one of, if not THE highlight of my day at school. I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to participate in a class like this, and am sure I am going to miss it dearly next semester. Last but definitely not least, I am thankful for being able to leave during 8th period Academic Labs. I am extremely fortunate and ever so grateful to have two of these in a row on B days and C days.

Now, let’s see what Rockhurst has to say.

“I’m ever so thankful for rear window defrosters” – Miles Rivard

“I’m thankful for Birddog shorts, actually I’m more than thankful, I owe my life to the founder.” – Brooks Daily

“The gift of life.”- Mr. Magee

“Giving and receiving love.” – Fr. G

“My friends and family, my gifts, and Rockhurst High School” – Valdivia

“Breakfast” – Owen Franklin
