For some reason, people live as if time is guaranteed. We plan our lives days, weeks, hell, even months ahead! All with the hopes that time will catch up and we will have something to do. It’s easy to plan your life out when you have an “unlimited” amount of time. Tomorrow is my last day of high school. This a day I thought was an eternity away. But it got me thinking, what if you only had one day to live? What would you do? I spoke with a few students to get their opinions, and here’s what they said:
If I only had one day left to live, I’d start my day off eating my favorite cereal: Cinnamon Toast Crunch. After finishing my breakfast, I would invite my entire family over for a cookout and basketball tournament. After all of that, I would climb to the top of my roof, watch the sun disappear over the horizon, and look at photos from my childhood, reflecting on the wonderful life I’ve lived.
If I only had a day left on the clock, I’d probably hit up IHOP and get a stack of pancakes, some eggs, a few slices of bacon, a couple of hash browns, and wash it all down with about three glasses of orange juice. Next, I’d probably head back home and get some squad matches of Fortnite in. Hopefully, they’d all be dubs since it’s my last day. After about 6 or 7 hours of that, I’d probably spend time playing with my cat Cleopatra. And finally, I’d probably go camping with all of my friends and sleep out under the stars.
With only a day left, I would start my day off with a bowl of ramen, a summer breeze boba tea, and my favorite anime: Kids on the Slope. Next, I’d invite the boys over and we’d go to the park and play for a couple hours. After that, we would go get some street tacos, bring them back to my house, and watch Moonrise Kingdom. After all of that, we would lie down and listen to my vinyl records.
