The Rockhurst Varsity Lacrosse Team defeated Blue Valley West 20-6 on Wednesday night. The game was played at home for the Hawklets. The game started off strong with the Hawklets leading 6-1 at the end of the first period.
The Lacrosse team is led by nineteen seniors with sights set far passed the regular season. “I expect to dominate every team that we play this year,” Cade Prins, senior, said , “We should win it all this year.”
The team has a solid season to back up Prins’ claim. So far, the Rockhurst Lacrosse team had gone undefeated, winning six games. The Hawklets have averaged approximately nineteen goals a game. Junior, Brady Guck led the team with six goals followed by senior, Harrison Donnelly with five.
“Watching the game was great,” said teacher, Mr. Armand Aaron, “The passes were clean, and the students were able to play as a team while showing a lot of depth.” With a long season ahead of them, and a challenging game against DeSmet coming up, the Rockhurst Lacrosse team will have to keep up their consistency. Senior player, Errett Mackey expressed the importance of humility. “We can’t get too cocky, as that can hurt us easily,” he said.
