Guest Writer: Fantasy Football Week 11

Hey Rockhurst! As the fantasy season winds down, and we look towards the playoffs, here are my deep-dive picks for this week.

Quarterback

Jared Goff (Los Angeles) — After a rather disappointing string of starts, it’s time for the #1 overall pick to step up and lead the hapless Rams. The offense has been sputtering as of late in LA, and with a favorable matchup against Miami, I expect Goff to make a good first impression.

Running Backs

Dion Lewis (New England) — Remember this guy? Dion put up killer numbers last year during his abbreviated season, and finally was activated from the IR this past week. Lewis will be eased back into the Tom Brady-led offense at first, but he’s going to be the go to pass-catcher in the Pats offense as the season winds down. If you have an extra spot, roster Dion.

Dwayne Washington (Detroit) — For Washington, it’s not a matter of volume, but of production. Coming off a 10 carry game and a bye week, I fully expect Washington to get the LIONS share (see what I did there) of the carries this week against the middling Jaguars defense. Washington is set to put up serviceable numbers this week. Only owned in 5% of leagues, he’s a great option for teams struggling in the RB position.

Wide Receivers

Cameron Meredith (Chicago) — Meredith burst onto the scene weeks 4-6, but descended into the background of the wretched Bears offense until now. What caused this change? Alshon Jeffrey is out 4 weeks on suspension. With ownership numbers way down, Meredith should be available in your league. He’ll be the most-targeted wideout in Chicago in the coming weeks, so add him.

Robert Woods (Buffalo) — Well rested because of a week 10 bye, Woods is chomping at the bit to replicate his 10 catch 162 yard performance against Seattle week 9. With a favorable matchup against the Bengals this week, Woods is set for another great performance. He continues to be the #1 WR in Buffalo in Sammy Watkins’s steed and is heavily involved in the passing game. Add him for great numbers this week.

Tight End

Ladarius Green (Pittsburgh) — He’s back – for real this time. He made his debut last week, putting up average numbers, but this week he’s going up against the 0-10 Cleveland Browns, and we all know what that means. Green is widely available and is going to be the TE1 in the Steelers offense. He needs to be picked up if you need TE help.

Defense of the Week

Oakland Raiders — By far the stream of the week, the Raiders have a great matchup against the Houston Texans on Monday night. Owned in barely a quarter of leagues, Raiders are the go-to defense if you’re in a bind this week, and they’ll put up top-tier numbers. Even though they are the Raiders, pick ’em up.

Kicker

Ryan Succop (Tennessee) — Averaging 7 points a week and coming off a 13 point performance, Succop is on a roll. The Titans’ offense has been incredible as of late, and will look to continue that trend against the Colts this weekend. Only owned in 5% of leagues, Succop is widely available. Pick him up.

Well that’s all for this week, good luck to everyone!
