On April 26, 2015 Fr. Terrence Baum, SJ announced to the Rockhurst community that his time as President of Rockhurst High School will be coming to a close after the following school year. Soon after, a search committee headed by Mr. Allen Roberson, class of 1984, was assembled to find the school’s 17th President.
The application window for the position ended on Saturday, September 16th. The committee will soon begin to have conversations with the candidates about their vision and goal for Rockhurst in the future.
“We are looking for someone who will take what Fr. Baum has done and take it to the next level,” Mr. Laurence Freeman, Chief Advancement Officer and Chair of the Advisory Committee, said. “We are really looking for an inspired person who can be a communicator, be inspired by Catholic education, a person who believes full heartedly in forming men for others.”
The process for selecting the next President of Rockhurst High School started with the search committee asking the Rockhurst community what they believe the next President should exemplify.
“What we are getting from people is that they want a champion for Catholic education that can give our students the best opportunity to reach their God-given potential,” Mr. Freeman said.
The search committee wants to be as transparent as possible with the Rockhurst community, which is why they keep an updated web page accessible through the Rockhurst website. The committee also wants the ideas and feedback of the community about the search. Use the feedback tab to help communicate with them.
