Another eventful weekend is on the horizon for September 26th through the 28th. From football games to halloween festivities, this weekend calls for outdoor activities.
On Friday, there is, of course, the football game against the Blue Springs Wildcats. This game could potentially be the Hyvee Game of the Week. If it ends up being the game of the week, it will be televised. This is a huge game for Rockhurst against the 2012 and 2013 state champions. The game is at Rockhurst and starts at seven o’clock.
Sporting Kansas City takes on the New England Revolution on Friday. This game is at Sporting Park and will kick off at seven o’clock. Go watch Rockhurst Grad, Seth Sinovic, try to defend New England’s best strikers.
The Kansas City Renaissance Festival is still going on this weekend in Bonner Springs. Admission is 20 dollars to see jousters, kings, queens, and artisans interact like they did way back when. This event is all weekend and is open rain or shine.
Worlds of Fun kicked off its Halloween Haunt last weekend. Attend Worlds of Fun on Friday or Saturday night and you are guaranteed to get the socks scared off of your feet. The haunt runs until November 2nd, so feel free to take your time.
There is a professional rodeo downtown on Friday and Saturday for all ages. This rodeo will be the 65th annual American Royal Rodeo. Watch professional bull riders attempt to last eight seconds on an angry bull. The rodeo will be held at the American Royal Complex and will start at 7:30.
If you’re a hockey fan in the Kansas City area, the St. Louis Blues host the Dallas Stars this Saturday at the Sprint Center. Without a professional hockey team in Kansas City, this is your chance to support another Missouri hockey team. The Blues will face off at 7 o’clock.
The Chiefs play the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football this week. Coming off a win against the Miami Dolphins, the Chiefs are looking to extend their winning streak and become 2-2. Although this isn’t technically over the weekend, you should still try to get your homework completed right after school on Monday and head down to Arrowhead for an entertaining Monday night.
